With the rapid spread of Coronavirus around the world, research on the quality and scope of health services provided by states has also increased. In this period, it started to draw attention that there were not many people who could access health services. Not all people have equal treatment conditions. According to research conducted by the University of California, transgender individuals and other LGBT-I individuals are exposed to discrimination in terms of access to treatment during this process. This means that these people are deprived of their most basic human rights.
According to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020, many individuals have faced various discrimination in terms of easy access to healthcare services this year. The research was completed with a total of 1,700 healthcare facilities nationwide. The sexual orientations of the individuals in the hospitals examined were compared. University of California Health (UCH) hospitals expressed their sensitivity in this regard with various researches and papers, underlining that they offer a completely equitable and fair medical service in all of their hospitals. Stating that any sexist, sexist, or racist approach should definitely be avoided, the videos shot by hospital staff in this process encourage LGBTI individuals.
